BroadVision Names Bob Lee
to Board of Directors
Release Date: 8/30/2004
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug 30, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall
via COMTEX/ -- BroadVision, Inc. (BVSN), a global provider of personalized
self-service web applications, today announced that Bob Lee, former telecom
executive with Pacific Bell, has joined the company's board of directors.
He becomes the ninth member of the BroadVision board.
Lee currently is a business consultant for leading
telecommunications and technology companies. Previously, Lee was a corporate
executive vice president and president of Business Communications Services,
where he established two new subsidiaries: Pacific Bell Internet Services
and Pacific Bell Network Integration.
During his 26-year career at Pacific Bell, Lee managed
groups in operations, sales and marketing. As executive vice president
of Marketing and Sales, from 1987 to 1992, he produced revenue growth
rates greater than the overall national telecommunications market. In
1997, he negotiated the deal with the San Francisco Giants that resulted
in naming their ballpark "Pacific Bell Park."
Lee is currently a director for two public companies:
Interland, Inc. (INLD), which provides web hosting for the small and medium
business market, and Emeryville based Netopia (NTPA), which manufactures
and sells DSL internet routers for consumers and small businesses. He
is also on the board of a private company associated with fiber optics
components.
"I see enormous potential in what BroadVision's
products can do for enterprises looking to streamline and automate high-volume,
high-cost processes," said Lee, newly appointed board member, BroadVision.
"The telecom industry is one of many that is full of such processes.
I look forward to contributing to the success of this talented company."
"I am pleased to welcome Bob Lee to BroadVision's
board," said Dr. Pehong Chen, president and CEO, BroadVision. "His
deep knowledge of the telecom industry and years of experience with Internet
services will be invaluable as we help customers achieve greater agility
and profitability by migrating their businesses processes to the web."
Also serving on BroadVision's Board of Directors
are Dr. Pehong Chen, chairman, president, and CEO of BroadVision; David
Anderson, general partner of Sutter Hill Ventures; James Dixon, retired
CIO and group executive at Bank of America; Koh Boon Hwee, chairman of
Singapore Airlines and former chairman of Singapore Telecom; Todd A. Garrett,
retired CIO of Procter & Gamble; Rod McGeary, retired co-CEO, KPMG
Consulting (now BearingPoint); T. Michael Nevens, retired Managing Partner,
