Verio Appoints Industry Veteran, Former Perot Systems Executive Mark Teflian As Senior Vice President, Global Solutions

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Aug 12, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Verio, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT Communications and leader in global IP solutions, today announced the appointment of Mark Teflian to senior vice president, Global Solutions, effective immediately. He will report to Greg Conley, Verio president and CEO.

In this new role, Teflian will lead strategy for Verio's unified hosting solutions serving both the small-to-midsize and enterprise markets globally. He will also oversee product and solutions management, strategic alliances and corporate marketing, as well as Verio's technology governance and applied research to ensure maximum effectiveness from the alignment of business and technology initiatives.

With 23 years of experience building globally competitive businesses, Teflian, 48, joins Verio from Martingale Corporation, a business he co-founded and led as president. While under Teflian's leadership, Martingale developed and launched IT performance engineering solutions to the global 1000. During this time, Teflian also co-founded and served as chairman of Customer Evolutions, a customer data integration solutions company serving the global travel and transportation market.

Before founding Martingale, Teflian was with Tanning Technology Corporation, a global systems integrator and IT solutions provider. As vice president, Strategic Business and Solutions, and later president and CEO, Teflian was instrumental in leading Tanning's business, market and technology development groups, transforming the business into a high-value IT solutions provider during his tenure there from 2001 through 2003.

Prior to Tanning, Teflian founded digital marketplace builder Time0 LLC, a subsidiary of Perot Systems, and also served as Perot Systems Corporation's global electronic commerce practice leader.

In his earlier career, Teflian founded and built Covia Technologies, a division of Galileo International, as well as leading the Strategic Technology team at United Air Lines, whose industry-leading innovations include the widely used Apollo computer reservation system. While at United, Teflian's teams also developed and implemented a range of new voice, data and network services.
